Dr. Kamolrat Intaratat is Assoc. Professor under
the Faculty of Communication, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open
University, Bangkok, Thailand. She is currently also being the
Director of the Communication and Development Knowledge
Management Research Centre : CCDKM (www.CCDKM.org)
based in Sukhotai Thammathirat Open University : STOU. The CCDKM
aimed to be the nurturing centre for any new comer who want to
work for the other media too.
Her interests is the Development Communication
especially in the Community-based Communication. Agriculture
Communication, and Rural Communication is her expertise by her
previous 15 years in Kasersart (Agriculture) University.
Besides, media especially the ICT media, the ODL strategies is
her current works with various kinds of aspects aimed for global
and local link to fullfill the betterment of human being
especially the Less or the marginal groups in the society i.e
the youths, the aged, the farmers, the homeworkers, etc. She is
also one leaded in setting the ThaiTelecentre.org as well as its
website :

expanding to other niche groups i.e. the telecentre for the
homeworkers empowerment :

Dr Bessie M. Burgos has been
appointed as Manager of the Project Development and Management
Department (PRODEV) of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for
Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) since
February 16, 2010. As PRODEV Manager, she oversees SEARCA's
project development operations, including implementation of
policy directions for project identification, development, and
implementation; Spearheads the overall coordination, liaison and
facilitation of marketing and resource generation activities;
and leads project identification, negotiation and management.
Before joining SEARCA, she worked
for 30 years at the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry
and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD)-Department
of Science and Technology (DOST) in Los Banos, Laguna. From a
Science Research Specialist I position in 1987, Dr Burgos rose
from the ranks to being the Acting Director to Finally the
Director of the activities of TOPD, Dr. Burgos led the
formulation and packaging of technology transfer and
commercialization programs for the agriculture, forestry and
natural resources sectors; directed the evaluation and
monitoring of programs, projects and activities related to
technology management; and recommended policies on technology
transfer and commercialization.
In July 2001, Dr. Burgos was
conferred with a degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Science and
Technology Studies by the University of Wollongong, New South
Wales, Australia. She finished her Master of Management degree
and Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Business at the
University of the Philippines Los Banos in 1985 and 1979,
respectively.
She has written and co-authored
various publication in agricultural research; technologies in
agriculture and natural resources; technology management; and
technology transfer and commercialization.

Nik Mustapha Raja Abdullah is a Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Recreation, Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia. He started his career as a lecturer in UPM in 1981 and in 1993, he was promoted to the rank of an Associate Professor in the same department. In 1997, he was again promoted to a Professor in the faculty. After serving as Head of Department of Natural Resource Economics from 1989-1997, he was appointed as the Deputy Dean in charge of research and graduate studies in August 1997. He then served as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management from the year 1999 to May 2004. In June 2004 he was elevated to the position of the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia until December 2005 and in January 2006, he was appointed to the post of the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, which is one of the Research Universities in Malaysia, until today. He has taught many courses such as microeconomics and managerial economics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
He has been very active in research and consultancy
activities especially in the area of fisheries economics. He has
published articles on fisheries related issues in many flagship
journals such as Marine Policy, Marine Resource Economics,
Environmental and Resource Economics, Coastal Management,
International Journal of Food Marketing and Agribusiness, Asian
Fisheries Sciences, Malaysian Journal of Agricultural Economics,
Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies, Malaysian Economics
Journal, Pertanika Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities,
and International Journal of Business and Society. He has also
participated in many international, regional and national
seminars and conferences either as keynote address speaker or
paper presenter. He also writes popular articles some of which
appeared in the ICLARM Newsletter and INFOFISH Marketing Digest
for international audience and in local newspapers.
He sits on the Editorial Board of Marine Resource Economics
Journal, a Council Member of the Agricultural Economics Society
of Southeast Asia (AESSEA), Vice-President of the Malaysian
Agricultural Economics Association (PETA) and Chairman of the
Asian Fisheries Social Sciences Research Network (AFSSRN). He
has been appointed as the Vice President for the Federation of
the Universities of The Islamic World in 2007. Currently, he is
a Board Member of the Malaysian Fisheries Development Board (LKIM),
MAJUIKAN Sdn. Bhd., Malaysian Cocoa Board, METEOR Sdn. Bhd.,
METEORdoc. Sdn. Bhd. and Malaysian Examinations Council.
Previously, he served as a board member of the Group of Experts
on the Scientific Aspects of the Marine Environmental Protection
(GESAMP) of the United Nations, during 1995-1997. He was also a
member of other well known organisations such as International
Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade (IIFET), American
Agricultural Economic Association, American Economic
Association, the Asian Fisheries Society and Malaysian Fisheries
Society. |

Dzulkifli Abdul Razak is currently the
Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia since 2000. He is
also the Chair of the Malaysian Vice-Chancellors’/Rector’s
Committee. Dzul is the Immediate Past President of Association
of Southeast Asia Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL), and
is presently serving in various committees internationally,
including, Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Education Hub Advisory
Committee, Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and
more recently the Vice-President of the International
Association of Universities (IAU) - a UNESCO- affiliated
organization. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee of
World Universities Forum, Davos, 2008. He serves on the World
Heath Organization (WHO) Expert Advisory Panel on Drug Policies
and Management since 1995, and the WHO Scientific Advisory
Committee on Tobacco Product Regulation (2000-2002).He is a
Fellow of the Malaysia Academy of Science, and also the World
Academy of Art and Science. He regularly contributed to a
leading Malaysian daily, as a weekly columnist, since 1995 (for
NST, and more recently The Edge, a business weekly) writing on
issues relating education, science, and current events.
