THE 3RD DISTINGUISHED LECTURE SERIES ON YOUTH WELL BEING

UPM SERDANG, 6^th  April 2023, - 3rd Distinguished Lecture Series on Youth Well Being was held on 6^th  April 2023 at the Rashdan Baba Auditorium, TNCPI Building, UPM. The lecture series is the third time organized by the Institute of Social Science Studies (IPSAS) in collaboration with the Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC-IIUM), Institut Darul Ehsan (IDE) and Selangor Youth Community (SAY).

The theme of this lecture was The Challenges of Balanced Youth Development in the Cyber Era and it was presented by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia. Among the issues highlighted by the Minister are the mental health among the youth, the re-establishment of the Rakan Muda programme and the problem of bankruptcy among today's youths.

The lecture was attended by 250 participants comprising local and foreign students, youth groups from various agencies and lecturers.

The event also saw the exchange of MOU between UPM and the Malaysian Institute of Youth Development and Research (IYRES), KBS. Hopefully, this collaboration will help the government in obtaining data and thus providing the best policies for the youths in Malaysia.
