Signing Ceremony

Premier Research Collaboration between Yayasan Pengaman Malaysia (PENGAMAN) and Institute for Social Science Studies (IPSAS) UPM

Shah Alam, 8 Sept – PENGAMAN under the initiative of Pengaman Research Exchange on Drugs, Immigrants, Crime and Transformation (PREDICT) has signed a premier research collaboration with Universiti Putra Malaysia via IPSAS. The signing ceremony between YBhg. Tan Sri Norian Mai, Chairman of PENGAMAN and Prof. Dr. Turiman Suandi, Director of IPSAS was held at PENGAMAN’s Office.

According to YBhg. Tan Sri Norian Mai “opinions without research are only opinions without a strong foundation”. He hoped that this new research program will help PENGAMAN to formulate action plans that are supported by viable research findings that will ultimately bring much benefit to the concerned parties.

The research program amounting to RM160, 000 consists of two research projects: Migrants: Issues and Problems in Malaysia, and Well-being and Quality of Life among Police Retirees. The Program Head is Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Sulaiman Md. Yassin and the research projects will be headed by two Project Leaders and identified researchers.
