On 21 May 2025, a Intellectual Discourse titled "Conducting SIA in Malaysia: Sharing Experiences" was held at the Al Farabi Seminar Hall, Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The program was jointly organized by the Institute for Social Science Studies (IPSAS), the Malaysian Association of Social Impact Assessment (MSIA), and the Pertubuhan Penyelidikan Sosial dan Komuniti (PPSK).

The speaker for this program was Dr. Shahwahid Othman FASc, an MSIA exco member with vast experience, making him highly qualified to deliver this topic.

In conjunction with the program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange ceremony was held between IPSAS, represented by the Director of IPSAS, Professor Dr. Haslinda Abdullah, and MSIA, represented by Dr. Shahwahid FASc. The MoU exchange ceremony was witnessed by Puan Sri Dr. Jahara Yahaya, a member of the MSIA executive committee.

This program was attended by approximately 60 students from various faculties, including Faculty of Human Ecology (FEM), Faculty of Modern Languages & Communication (FBMK), School of Economics (SPE), Faculty of Education and Faculty of Science. The session lasted for 90 minutes. The organizers hope that the participants and students gained new insights and knowledge from this program.
