Gimic Opening Distinguish Lecture Series on Youth Well-Being

26 July 2022 - The Raja Muda of Selangor, DYTM Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj set out to complete the Distinguish Lecture Series on Youth Well-Being and the Launching of the Champion Youth Programme. The programme was organised by the Institute of Social Science Studies (IPSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with Selangor Youth Community (SAY) and the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC-IIUM).
The inaugural lecture session with DYTM Raja Muda Selangor delivered his commitment to empower the development of youth in the country by looking at the role of youths who are able to be agents of change. This lecture highlights his experience and contribution through his involvement as executive Patron at Selangor Youth Community (SAY). DYTM Raja Muda Selangor has agreed to launch the Youth Champion programme which is the brainchild of his majesty which aims to provide a platform and initial grant to youth organizations to make positive changes to the local community in line with the Sustainable Development Goals under the United Nations (UN) initiative.
He has also agreed to give the first grant to the student association of Universiti Putra Malaysia. The Champion Youth Grant is open to all individuals or youth organizations not only in Selangor but also throughout Malaysia and ASEAN. DYTM Raja Muda Selangor also agreed to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Universiti Putra Malaysia and Selangor Youth Community (SAY). The memorandum was signed by Prof. Dr. Haslinda Abdulah as Director of IPSAS, UPM while SAY was represented by Puan Nurul Azwa Mohd Rodzi as the Chief Executive Officer.
