FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT FROM SEKOLAH TINGGI ILMU KESEHATAN PERTAMINA BINA MEDIKA (STIKES PERTAMEDIKA) JAKARTA, INDONESIA

UPM SERDANG, March 13, 2023 - The Pertamina Bina Medika Health Sciences College, (STIKES PERTAMEDIKA) Jakarta Indonesia paid an official visit to IPSAS. There was a total of 12 people in the delegation including the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Services and Operations and Senior Lecturers of Stikes Pertamedika. The delegation was led by Dr. Asep Saefudin, SH, MM, CHRP, CHRA who is the Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Pertamedika.

 The maiden visit involved a visit to four (4) entities in UPM, namely, the Institute for Social Science Studies (IPSAS), the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK), the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Hospital (HSAAS) and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV). In each of the visit to these entities, the delegation was given a brief explanation of the role and function of the entities involved.

 The first visit took place at IPSAS in the morning. An explanation of the function and role of IPSAS as the host of the tour organizer was given by the Director of IPSAS, Prof Dr. Haslinda Abdullah. The delegation was also introduced to other management members consisting of the Deputy Director, three Laboratory Heads, the Head of Administration, the Research Officer, two Social Research Officers and two administrative officers and executive staff. At the end of the session, both parties exchanged souvenirs. The delegation thanked IPSAS for arranging the meeting and the warm hospitality.

 During the one-day visit, the delegation visited the Museum of Human Anatomy at FPSK. They were exposed about the basic things, functions and other things related to the human body. The delegation was then taken to visit the Dietetic Department to inspect the preparation of food diets for patients in the hospital kitchen and the Radiology Department to inspect the facilities in the Scan and MRI room, HSAAS. Next, the visit in the afternoon was at the Museum of Animal Anatomy, FPV and the delegates got to know about the history, functions and other things related to the body and skeleton of animals. What is even more interesting is that they can see closely the bodies and skeletons of real animals that have been preserved for display in the museum. The next visit is to the Animal Physiology Laboratory and the Animal Surgery Laboratory to learn about the operations and methods of treating and dissection of animals to find out the symptoms or causes of the animal's pain. At the end of the visit at FPV, the delegation was also taken to the Pet Clinic to see how the clinic handles pets from registration to their care at the clinic.

 As a result of the visit, among the suggestion that have been expressed is the exchange of nursing students in the second semester and above between STIKES and FPSK as a semester credit transfer. The feedback received from the fellow delegates from Indonesia was they were impressed at the experience gained from the visit and it was very meaningful and valuable for them, and they plan to have a similar visit again together with their other colleagues in Indonesia in the future. At the end of each visit to the different entities, there was an exchange of souvenirs between the PTJ and the Head of Delegation.
